This happened when…

We’ve installed Jenkins on a new windows machine. By default, we have the very old, famous, internet explorer browser. So, after installing Jenkins, we have started using IE browser for configuring Jenkins.

Initial page for default password worked fine but when we moved to next step, it immediately ended up in An error occurred during installation: Forbidden error.

Solution

To resolve this issue, we had to install Google Chrome browser on the windows machine. After the installation when we opened Jenkins URL in chrome, all the other options went smooth without any issues.
